Folklore ensemble PLĂIEŞII

Folklore ensemble “Plăieşii” was founded in 1989, at the National Palace of Children and Youth Creation. Since 1999 the ensemble belongs to the Culture Division of Chisinau Botany region.

The ensemble has performed and not once become laureate of a number of national and international festivals in Russia, Romania, Ukraine and Italy. It is often invited to perform at radio and television broadcasts. In recent three years it has released two CDs (Christmas and lyric songs).

The exclusiveness of this ensemble lies in its expressive, alive performing manner, based on customary tradition, the abundant musical and choreographic repertoire, consisting of shepherds‘ and ritual folklore of the Christmas, Easter and other festivities, wartime, lyric and dance songs, religious chants, music performed on violin, kobza, recorder flute (flujier), pan flute (nai), drum (toba) and other instruments.
